You can find potential thought leaders almost everywhere—in your family, your circle of friends, in your classroom, at work and at play. They may have an original viewpoint on a subject or concern that captures their interest and fuels their passion to pursue that subject because they feel it’s important. Sometimes, their ideas start movements or businesses. Sometimes, their ideas lead to solutions and answers to the big questions of our time.
Their perspective may be unusual, sometimes quirky, creative, insightful, and even convention-breaking. They explore and pursue their area of interest until eventually, other people begin to recognize that their ideas or solutions have value. They may be considered experts or authorities in their area of interest.
They’re often not satisfied with just discussing their ideas, they want to convince others that their point of view is important not just in their field, but for society and even the world. They may be introspective, quiet and nerdy, or outspoken and headstrong. But with the right training and guidance, they can be the leaders that will change our future in a positive direction.
